Community Roots hosts a wide range of events throughout the year for children, youth, adults, and families. From kids’ activities and women’s gatherings to community cooking nights and men’s cooking events, our events are designed to build connection, support wellbeing, and bring neighbours together in a welcoming environment.

Walk‑ins are welcome
Registered participants must arrive within 5 minutes of the start time to keep their priority
After 5 minutes, priority is released and walk‑ins may take available spots

Basketball Day Camp

Format: Drop‑in event — no registration required
Free basketballs for the first 30 campers

Kids Connect
Each day includes games, crafts, themed activities, and breakfast and lunch. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where kids can have fun, build friendships, and stay active during the summer months.

How Kids Connect Works
Registration - 9:15 - 9:40 AM
Parents must complete a permission/registration form for Kids Connect in order for child to be admitted
Entry is first‑come, first‑serve
Daily maximum capacity: 20 children
Children will be dismissed promptly at 12:30 PM
Children are free to leave the program at any time after advising their leader
Parents will be notified immediately
Once a child leaves, the program is no longer responsible for their supervision or safety and they will not be allowed to return that day

Staff have received Plan to Protect training and follow all Community Roots protocols
